Lifeguard TrainingBecome certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED- valid 2 years. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. This is a blended learning class with approximately 7 hours of online course work required before the first day of class.Age Prerequisite: Must be at least 15 years old on or before the last day of class.Skill Prerequisites: Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl and breaststroke. Must demonstrate rhythmic breathing. Goggles may be used. Complete a timed skill sequence including a 20 yard swim, retrieval of a 10-pound object from a depth of 7-10 feet, swim 20 yards on back holding the object, and exit the water within 1 minute and 40 seconds. Goggles are not allowed. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Registration deadline for full certification is one week prior to class start.Review course participants must provide proof of current Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification on first day of class.
