Purple Martins Up Close

Adult Programs / Enrichment -
2024 Summer

So, you want to know more about one of the most sought after yard birds? Consider attending an open house…theirs. Come and see an active Purple Martin colony, while participating in a nest check. Learn what to do, and not to do, to enhance the health of your colony, or how to start a new one. Like many bird species, Martins are in significant decline. Learn some of the reasons why and how you can help.

In the event of rain, class will be postponed to June 22.

The instructor has donated his time to lead this class to keep participation accessible for all. We request that you please make a donation to support one of these local organizations: Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, Kandiyohi County Food Shelf, or the United Way of West Central Minnesota. Food or item donations may be brought along to class if we can assist with the delivery.
