Cardinal Kids Preschool is an exciting program for children who are 4 years old by September 1st of the school year for which they are registering. The preschool program follows the regular school calendar.
Cardinal Place is the before/after school program located within the Willmar Public Schools. We currently have three sites – at Kennedy Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School, and Lakeland Elementary School.

School Readiness preschool is a program for families with children 3 to 5 years old. Parents do not attend class with their child. However, they are required to be involved with the program. Many opportunities are available for families.

Willmar Community Education offers private or semi-private swimming instruction for all ages and ability levels. These lessons are 30 minutes in length and geared toward specific goals of each student.

These classes are geared for parents and children under the age of 1.
These classes are for families with children from birth to pre-kindergarten.
In-person or online classes for parents.

A Saturday morning of fun for children up to age 6 and their parents.

Bring your questions about: optics, apps, feed, books, bird houses, IDs, feeders, on-line resources, and more. The birding community is very welcoming (they even let our instructor in). Come join us!
The instructor has donated his time to lead this class to keep participation accessible for all. We request that you please make a donation to support one of these local organizations: Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, Kandiyohi County Food Shelf, or the United Way of West Central Minnesota. Food or item donations may be brought along to class if we can assist with the delivery.
Randy Frederickson recently retired after teaching science in Willmar for 28 years. He is a lifetime member of the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union and former chair of their Conservation Committee. As an independent contractor, he has done bird research for Minnesota DNR, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Minnesota Audubon. He is an outdoorsman, husband, and grandfather of several future birders... or so he hopes.
